Sings In The Rain

a raindrop falling

from great height

hits a leaf

at the top of the tree

it survived

lying on the petiole,

suddenly in motion

it slides to leafs end

ever so lightly falling

leaf to leaf

through the branches

lower it goes

singing in the rain

it never saw the deer

landing on the lowest leaf

the deer stretches

its neck

licks the leaf dry,

then eats;

the raindrop

makes nary

a sound

while above

a raindrop

jubilant it survived

sings in the rain
