Rattlesnakes

the cave dark and damp, echoes danger to all who enter
inside the sound of rattles, not unlike that a baby shakes
the snakes with fangs that glisten, make intruders flee before bitten

Author Notes

This is a poem of actual events from somewhere in my childhood.
I wrote it as Sijo Poetry which is easy and fun to write…the truth will be revealed.
