Singing In The Rain

a raindrop falling
from great height

hits a leaf
at the top of the tree
relieved,
it survived

lying on a petiole,
suddenly in motion
it slides to leafs end

ever so lightly falling
transitions
leaf to leaf

downward
through the branches
lower it goes
singing in the rain

it never saw the deer;
landing on the lowest leaf
the deer stretches
its neck
licks the leaf dry,
then swallows

the raindrop
surprised,
makse nary
a sound,
has no impact
on the song
of falling rain

while above
a raindrop
jubilant it survived
sings in the rain
