Singing In The Rain

a raindrop falling
from great height

hits a leaf
at the top of the tree
it survived

lying on a petiole,
suddenly in motion
it slides to leafs end

ever so lightly falling
leaf to leaf

through the branches
lower it goes
singing in the rain

it never saw the deer;
landing on the lowest leaf
the deer stretches
its neck
licks the leaf dry,
then swallows

the raindrop
makse nary
a sound,
has no impact
on the song
of falling rain

while above
a raindrop
jubilant it survived
sings in the rain
